Fetish Modernity ExhibitionFetish Modernity explored modernity beyond technological progress, highlighting creative practices across eras and societies. Developed with Edgar Hoffman, KASCEN, and six European museums, the traveling exhibition integrated artifacts, multilingual narratives, and immersive spatial design, allowing audiences to experience a cohesive interpretation of modernity from Brussels to Sweden between 2011 and 2014.
The exhibition brought complex ideas to life, using artifacts and immersive design to make modernity tangible for diverse audiences.
Coordinating multiple museums and curatorial perspectives, we navigated technical challenges while maintaining a seamless visitor experience.
The challenge
The project required harmonizing content from multiple museums and curators across languages and venues. Technical and spatial constraints, including backlit panel calibration and artifact display, demanded precise integration to preserve narrative clarity and visitor engagement.
Our impact
The exhibition successfully engaged audiences in six countries, presenting a thought-provoking and accessible exploration of modernity. Its cohesive design strengthened the curatorial narrative and resulted in a comprehensive exhibition catalog documenting the show’s scholarship and design process.
