Delta T4 Terminal @JFK

Touch Table

Designed in collaboration with Perch Interactive, the touch table at Delta’s T4 terminal merged physical modeling with projection-based interaction. Users could navigate the new terminal’s features through interactive hotspots, animations, and media, creating an engaging preview experience that delighted executives and offered customers a unique way to explore the new terminal.

Overlaying projection-based interactions on a physical model allowed us to merge tactile and digital storytelling.

The challenge

Designing the experience meant integrating multiple media types, including videos, animations, and still images, over a single physical model. Ensuring smooth interaction, intuitive navigation, and seamless storytelling across projection-based touch points was a unique design and technical challenge.

Our impact

Initially showcased at a high-profile launch event, the touch table impressed Delta executives and generated excitement about the terminal. Its later integration into the terminal gave customers a hands-on, immersive preview of the new space, improving engagement and wayfinding.
